Heaven or Hell? Extraordinary Shoe Design
Cube Design Museum, Kerkrade, Holland
The exhibition speaks to us through the shoes on display of multiple artistic and technical meanings by which the shoe has stood out over the past seventy years, confirming it a strong tool of libertarian expression, able to embody and reflect an increasingly rich and subtle vision of the self, through continuous challenges and the search for comfort. Over 100 iconic and highly symbolic pairs of shoes have been specifically selected: from the shoes worn by celebrities as Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Brigitte Bardot, Lady GaGa, Sara Jessica Parker in the role of Carrie Bradshaw, and Naomi Campbell, to commonly used shoes and to prototypes created by well-known designers.
The exhibition is co-produced by Cube Design Museum and IMF Foundation.
